What has been achieved since the programme started?

Since its inception, the programme has registered several achievements
a) Wrote the programme manual containing sessions and activities to be used by facilitators
b) Recruited and trained 60 facilitators selected from within the parents themselves to deliver the programme to fellow parents.
c) Pilot tested the project with 128 parents in Kigungu Entebbe and Bweya in Kajansi, and published our findings about how to involve fathers
d) Successfully collaborated with a local NGO (SOS CV) to deliver the programme in Katabi and Kakiri in Wakiso district
e) Conducted a large scale evaluation of the project with approx. 600 parents/carers and their 14 year old children and documented the programme benefits
f) From the numerous testimonies of the participants, contributed to better spousal relationships and commitment by parents, especially fathers, to adopt positive parenting, something the men confessed ‘no one had ever taught
them, not even at school’
g) Supported a cluster of interested CBOs in Kasese and Luwero to implement aspects of the programme.
